YSR’s name deleted from the charge-sheet !
Why has the CBI not named the late Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as one of the accused in the charge-sheet of the CBI in the illegal assets case against Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy?.
This is the question being discussed in the political circles. It was because CBI has included the name of YSR in the FIR that 29 Congress MLAs and MPs Raja Mohan Reddy and Sabbam Hari have resigned initially.
TRS leader and former MP Vinod is alleging that the Congress party got YSR’s name deleted from the charge-sheet as it feared the government would otherwise collapse. He says that many more MLAs would have left the party if YSR’s name was included and this would have led to the collapse of the government.
Vinod is also arguing that the case would not stand up for scrutiny by a court of law, unless YSR’s name was mentioned. He also feels that this was a deliberate attempt to ensure the collapse of case against Jagan.
However, Congress leaders deny that they had anything to do with the charge-sheet. They also point out that Rajeev Gandhi’s name which was mentioned in the FIR of the Bofors case was removed from the charge-sheet after he was killed in bomb blast.
However, Congress leaders are internally expressing fears that by exposing late YSR and charging Jagan of criminal activities, the party was fast losing the people’s faith and Jagan on the other hand was gaining public sympathy despite the allegations
