YSRC questions Congress secular credentials

Questioning the secular credentials of Congress Party, YSR Congress Party on Tuesday said that it was trying to whip up passions on caste and religious lines.

“While Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy built the Congress Party in the state above caste and religious barriers, some leaders are now raking up those sensitive issues to gain political mileage but it will spell doom to the party in the ensuing elections,” YSRC party spokesperson Judpudi Prabhakar Rao told reporters here.

Judpudi further said that bringing religious issue into political arena was not in good taste.

“Bringing Bible, Koran, Church and Mosque into the electoral skirmishes is not in good taste and the Congress leaders’ remarks on dalits will have serious repercussions as half of the two crore dalits go to Church. This apart the sanctity of the places of worship should not become material for electoral propaganda,” he added.
