According to YSR Congress sources, Vijayamma will go to New Delhi next week to meet national leaders and seek support for Jagan’s case.
“The bypoll victory has clearly proved that the case against Jagan is politically motivated. If Jagan is not granted bail soon, we will go to the people and seek justice,” said sources.
Although the CBI is investigating the case on the directions of the AP high court and the state or central government cannot interfere in the matter, Vijayamma plans to meet PM Manmohan Singh and ask him to direct the investigative agency to carry out a proper investigation as the CBI falls under him.
The YSR Congress also wants to press for the transference of the ongoing investigation to a sitting judge of the Supreme Court.
This is because the party feels that the CBI is attempting to prolong the case against Jagan as much as possible. “This is clearly on the directive of their political bosses, the Congress-led UPA government,” said party sources.
