World Bank grants $75 million credit to AP

worldbankGreat relief to Government of Andhra Pradesh ,which is suffering form financial crises with insufficient reserves after bifurcation of the state.

The World Bank to provide $75 million credit to AP for Andhra Pradesh Rural Inclusive Growth Project, for the development rural growth, health, nutrition, sanitation and social entitlements. The credit provided is aimed for upliftment of SC & ST , marginal farmers in 150 backward mandals of the state.

The credit agreement for the project was signed by Raj Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, on behalf of the Government of India; Sunitha Kolaventy, Finance Secretary, on behalf of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Onno Ruhl, World Bank Country Director in India, on behalf of the World Bank.

This programme  will benefit the small and marginal farmers to enhance their productivity by 50%.
