Will AP Get Petrol @ Rs.50/Litre?
A recent move of Goa CM Manohar Parrikar should open the eyes of our Government in supplying petrol. Will they give us any special treat by giving petrol at cheaper rater is something worth debate!
The other day, Goa government proposed to reduce VAT on petrol by 11%, to supply petrol at a rate of Rs 55 a litre. Andhra Pradesh government presently levies 33% VAT on petrol, making it a major source of income. Central and state government taxes make up to half of the price of petrol. If at least, state government curbs of the tax, AP people may get petrol at Rs.50 per litre.
If they drop all taxes on petrol, the price would drop by 30-40 rupees a litre, say analysts. Rather debating on useless issues and slinging mud on opposition, why couldn’t our rulers concentrate on something beneficiary to state’s people.
