Why delay in action against Botcha?
Telugu Desam Party on Thursday wondered why the Kiran Kumar Reddy government was delaying action against PCC president, Botcha Satyanarayana when there was evidence of his links with liquor syndicate.
Addressing a press conference, TDP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu said the government was reluctant to proceed against PCC chief as part of a compromise formula worked out by the AICC between him and the Chief Minister. It meant that the Congress was more worried about sorting our political differences within the party than providing corruption-free administration to the people.
The evidence marshalled against Mr. Satyanarayana include owning of 202 liquor shops in his native Vizianagaram district by 103 white ration cardholders, he said. Mr. Satyanarayana himself had admitted that his family owned several liquor shops.
Yet the government was not initiating any action and derailing the process by suddenly transferring the head of SIT K. Srinivas Reddy.
