The Center has begun excise to set up Railway Zone at Visakhapatnam. With the concerns raised by TDP MPs in Parliament for the last fourteen days, the BJP high command and the central government are preparing to set up a railway zone in the backdrop of discussions. This process has already started.
Union Minister Sujana Chaudhary has held talks with key leaders in AP and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the past two days in the wake of objections from Odisha for setting up the zone in Visakhapatnam. He explained to Odisha that there will be no problem by the formation of Visakha Railway zone. The Guntur, Vijayawada division and the Visakhapatnam railway division are likely to be set up. Reliable sources informed that 80 percent zones of the Walther division will continue. Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Odisha leaders have agreed to this.
The meeting was attended by BJP national president Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley along with Sujana Chowdary and Railway Minister Piyush Goghil at the Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu chamber yesterday. It is reported that the leaders who discussed the objections to the establishment of Visakhapatnam Railway have decided to announce it in two weeks.
This is just a governing affair, and it is unlikely that the Parliament will be forced to announce it as soon as possible. Yesterday evening, Piyush Gowal had ordered the staff to prepare documents for announcing the zone. The whole process will begin from Monday. It is now possible to start the final procedure from Monday, after discussing with the officials of the East Coast, along with the officials at the South Central Railway. After the Prime Minister’s approval, Goyal will make a clear statement.
