Expressing concern over the dwindling traditional vote bank of theCongress Party, Former Ministers and Senior Congress Leaders Mandali Budda Prasad and Devineni Rajasekhar Nehru opined the party should introspect the debacle it suffered in the recently held by polls. Addressing a joint press conference here today, Mr Buddha Prasad said it’s high time for the Congress to introspect on the debacle and take corrective measures to protect its conventional vote bank’. Referring to Vijayawada MP lagadapati Rajgopal’s purported statement two days ago, he said Congress leaders were making statements on their own, creating embarrassment among workers. These kind of acts would demoralize the cadre, he said. The Former Minister pointed out while Congress leaders belonging to Telangana were allowed to campaign in Seemandhra Region, Andhra leaders were not allowed to campaign in Parakala in Telangana region, which sent wrong signals to the party cadre. The Former Minister felt winning election on Congress Party ticket was not an easy task and advised steps should be taken immediately to ensure that people did not lose confidence in the Congress Party.
