A case has been booked under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 166, public servant disobeying the law, intent to cause injury to any person, 499 IPC (defamation), 500 IPC (punishment for defamation), Indian Telegraphic Act, IT Act and the Official Secrets Act.With regard to the cellphone call details leak and telecast and publication of news regarding CBI joint director V.V. Laxminarayana and his classmate Vasireddy Chandrabala.
It is suspected that the CBI joint director’s call details was leaked by a political leader’s relative with the help of a detective agency and the Nanded police.An FIR has been issued against Sakshi senior correspondent K. Yadagiri Reddy and Nacharam inspector of police M. Srinivas Rao and others under stringent and non bailable sections .The preliminary inquiry by the Cyberabad police found that Mr Yadagiri Reddy had approached Mr Srinivas Rao and given the number of Ms Chandrabala stating that it was regarding threat calls.
The inspector used the email ID and password of Alwal DCP Venkateswara Rao, using his computer in the police station, and sent a request to the service provider Airtel on June 18. The request was sent along with other suspects’ numbers in a dacoity case asking for call details. After obtaining the call details, the inspector handed over the same to Yadagiri Reddy .
