Government is reportedly suspended senior IPS officer Umesh Kumar who has gone underground ever since a local court has issued a Non Bailable Warrant against him in a forgery case.
The officer who is presently MD and Vice Chairman of the Godavari Valley Authority is charged with forging the signature of MP M A Khan to make some serious allegations on the DGP Dinesh Reddy. When the case came up for hearing before the court, he has asked for exemption from personal appearance. He has not respected the summons issued to him after the court has rejected his plea. When the police wanted to arrest him to carry out the warrant, he was untraceable.
However the high court has issued a stay on the NBW against the officer on Monday and directed him to surrender before the trial court before June 25.
