TTD decides to close Tirumala for six days

tirumalaTirumala Tirupati Devasthanam TTD to close Tirupati temple darshan for six days in August Times of India. First time in history, Tirumala temple in Chittoor to be shut for six days.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) trust board has decided to restrict the entry of devotees in the temple between August 9 and 17 due to “Maha Samprokshana”. The ritual which is a grand cleansing of the temple is performed once in 12 years.

TTD Board resolves to bring in curbs on darshan at Tirumala temple in view of `Astabandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokhsanama’ from August 9 to 17. All seva tickets, all forms of special darshan to remain cancelled during the period. Only 25000 devotees shall be facilitated for darshan.

Last time during Maha Samprokshana TTD restricted darshans to 20k per day. TTD’s decision to close Bhagavan Balaji’s Temple for 7days is unprecedented, shocking, unbelievable. Becomes quite suspicious in view of the alleged nefarious acts, loot of Temple’s wealth & impending filing of SC case by Dr. Swamy.
