The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams(TTD) with the support of Railway authorities are considering to provide more facilities to the visiting pilgrims, TTD Board Chairman K Bapiraju said here today. Addressing mediapersons here,the TTD chairman said Tirupati was the highest revenue grosser for Railways as thousands of pilgrims thronged Tirumala every day from across the country to have darshan at Sri Venkateswara Temple. He said they planned to construct a footover bridge connecting Vishnu Nivasam and Railway Station and asked the concerned offcials to prepare and submit the design of the plan in 15 days to Railway DRM office.
The Divisional Railway Manager(DRM) will take decision in another two weeks time after studying the designs, he added. A TTD Information Centre will also come up in the Railway Station soon to provide necessary information regarding accommodation, darshan and other facilities, he added.
Railway e-Ticket counters will also be set up in Srinivasam, Vishnunivasam and SV Guest House for the sake of the pilgrims. Mr Bapiraju said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will lay the foundation stone for pucca houses meant for displaced families, at Tirumala on April 22. Similarly, the Chief Minister will also lay the foundation stone for the subway which will be constructed between Srinivasam Complex and RTC Bus Stand in Tirupati.
