The Telangana Rashtra Samiti Vidyarthi Vibhagam (TRSV) on Monday protested outside the Intermediate Board office in the city against the high fee structure of corporate colleges across the state and demanded that the state government should control and reframe the fee system.
Parents raised a hue and cry over the “arbitrary fee hike” by private colleges. Balka Suman, state TRSV president, said corporate colleges in the twin cities earned close to Rs 450 crore every academic year by collecting high fees. They had no permission for hostels, but were running more than 200 hostels in Hyderabad alone. The colleges did not provide proper library and laboratory facilities for students and still demanded high fees, Mr Suman said.
