Trinamool Congress sweeps civic bodies polls in West Bengal

mamathaThe ruling Trinamool Congress swept all the seven civic bodies in West Bengal. It also bagged 13 of 14 wards in newly-formed Buniadpur municipality in Dakshin Dinajpur district.

BJP won six seats in three municipalities which included four in Dhupguri and one each in Buniyadpur and Panskura. While the TMC party bagged 14 of 16 wards in Nalhati municipality in Birbhum district, 12 of 16 wards in Dhupguri municipality in Jalpaiguri district and 17 of 18 wards in Panskura municipality in Purba Medinipur district. TMC bagged also seats in Panskura and Haldia in East Midnapore district, Buniyadpur in South Dinajpur. Congress and CPM to distant third positions.
