Tension prevails following death of pharmacy student

Tension prevailed at Indu Pharmacy College at Ibrahimpatnam near here following death of a student even as the students went on rampage forcing the police resorting to lathicharge. Police said Venkatesh, pursuing first year pharmacy course, had allegedly committed suicide writing a note that the college management was harassing him on the payment of college fee of Rs 2.5 lakh. Venkatesh, hailing from Velgatur Mandal of Karimnagar district, had sent an SMS to his friends that he was ending his life. He later consumed pesticide at Ibrahimpatnam Tank and died. Angered over the death of the student, the student organisations placed the body of Venkatesh before the college main gate and agitated. They later damaged the flower pots, cars in the college which forced the police present there to cane them, police added.
