According to the latest census, Telugu is the third-most common Indian language spoken in the USA. As per the census, 3,65,566 people at age over five speak Telugu at home. That is about 0.12% of the US population.
Though Urdu stands second among Indian languages with over 4,24,482 people speaking, most of them are from Pakistan.
The reason for Telugu dominance was from 2001 50% quota in H1B visa is granted to Telugu people. More than one million Telugu speaking people are living in the USA.
