TDP to launch campaign against liquor syndicate from VZM
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will launch his party’s campaign against liquor syndicate with a public meeting at Vizianagaram district on April 19.
According to TDP district President D Jagadish, Mr Naidu’s meeting was planned in the fort town of Vizianagaram to expose (Pradesh Congress Committee) PCC President and Transport Minister Botcha Satyanarayana’s links with liquor syndicates. The TDP had planned a state wide campaign and movement against liquor syndicate and the collusion of the Congress ministers and MLAs in liquor trade which led to massive Rs 15,000 crore loss to the state and huge bribing and corruption for selling illegal liquor from other states, he said. TDP had exposed the nexus between police, excise, Congress ministers and MLAs in the liquor syndicate scandal, he claimed. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Officials, who intensified their action against the nexus existing between liquor syndicates and politicians in North coastal districts of -Srikakulam- Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam- had detained seven persons allegedly owners of benami liquor shops in Vizianagaram district, the native place of Botcha Satyanarayana, four-days back. However, six of them were arrested three-days back involved in benami ownership of liquor shops after the interrogation and were produced before the magistrate of ACB court at Visakhapatnam yesterday. The six licensed shop owners picked up by ACB sleuths were agriculture labourers and were all BPL card holders.
