Telangana Rashtra Samithi senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao here on Friday asked the Telangana TDP leaders as to why they were not extending support to their former colleague Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, who is contesting from Nagarkurnool as an Independent candidate.
Addressing election meetings in Nagarkurnool in support of Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Harish Rao recalled that the Telangana TDP leaders had boasted that they would extend their unconditional support to those, who had resigned for the cause of Telangana, contested in the by-elections as Independent candidates and not on behalf of the TRS.
The TRS leader toured Nagarkurnool Assembly constituency on Friday and addressed election meetings appealing to the people to elect Dr Reddy with a landslide majority as he had resigned from Assembly for the cause of separate Telangana State. Stating that TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu would not become chief minister even if the people voted for his party, Harish Rao said that votes polled for the TDP would be like throwing their precious votes into a drainage canal.
The TRS leader alleged that the TDP has neither any ideology nor moral values. He also alleged that Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy and Nara Chandrababu Naidu entered into a match-fixing with regard to the by-elections in the Telangana region. He said that the people in the region were not in a mood to trust the TDP chief any longer even if he declared orally that he was not against separate Telangana thousand times. People may believe him only when he wrote a letter to Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram that the TDP was in favour of separate Telangana, he added.
