Telugu Desam Party TDP leaders have made it clear that there is no compromise on Andhra Pradesh’s special status issue. In this background, they are trying to get another weapon against the centre. It is learned that the TDP leaders are expected to give notices for Privilege against PM Modi after the no-confidence motion given by TDP was lost.
TDP is now planning to move a privilege motion against the Prime and Finance Minister for misleading the House on the issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Modi, in reply to no-confidence motion debate against his government, had quoted 14th Finance Commission to express his inability to grant special category status to Andhra.
AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has spoken to his MPs. Prime Minister Narendra Modi statement quoting 14th finance commision was absolutely a wrong statement and thus TDP to issue notices for Privilege against PM Modi.
However, the Congress party has already issued such notices to Modi on the issue of violation of rights. Congress demands a Joint Parliament Committee (JPC) probe into the alleged biggest defence scam- Rafael Jet deal. Congress MP’s gave notices for Privilege againstPrime Minister Narendra Modi and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman were misleading the House as part of the debate over the no-confidence motion.
