TDP demands vigilance proble into imported coal scam
Telugu Desam Party(TDP) today demanded a full fledged probe by either Vigilance Directorate or qualified official to probe into the imported coal scam by APGenco in which Chief Minister Kirankumar Reddy’s hand has been alleged. Addressing a press conference at NTR Bhavan here, TDP official spokesman and MLA A Revanth Reddy said gravity of the imported coal scandal demanded clarification by the chief minister or that the Government should place the files before the Speaker. Alleging that the APGenco had bought sub-standard imported coal from a controversial Gujarat company (Adani group) using the ‘letter heads’ of the PSU’s like PEC, MSTC and NCCF, he said the APGenco had bought 16 lakh tonnes of imported coal without any global bidding to appease the candidate promoted by state government causing huge losses to the state exchequer. The Government had even diluted the report sought by the party under the RTI Act, TDP leader alleged and said the party will place the evidence before the competent inquiry whenever a probe is ordered by the Government.
