TDP demands preventive arrest of DCC chief

In the interest of maintaining law and order in the fort town, Telugu Desam Party on Saturday demanded preventive arrest of district Congress committee president in-charge K. Veerabhadra Swamy for making provocative statements in the media.
The preventive arrest of Mr. Swamy was necessary in the wake of scheduled dharna by Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Collector’s office on April 23.
At a press conference, TDP district president D. Jagadish said the DCC president had been vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the town with his provocative statements that the party cadres would not allow TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu to stage protest against benami liquor traders. In the interest of people, the Opposition leader has every right to demonstrate against the wrong policies and inaction of the government on benami liquor traders.

Former minister P. Narayana Swamy Naidu said that Congress leader  Swamy was trying to introduce “Rayalaseema faction culture” in this peaceful district and expressed fear that it would spread to other districts. The party general secretary I.V.P. Raju and others were present.
