TDP blows by-poll bugle
The Telugu Desam Party, has sounded the poll bugle and campaign for the ensuing Narsannapeta Assembly by-poll.
Shimma Swamy Babu, son-in-law of former MLA Baggu Lakshman Rao, was selected as the TDP nominee. TDP leaders K.Yerrannaidu, K.Pratibha Bharati and G Suryanarayana started the election campaign and appealed to the voters in the villages to cast their votes to their party candidate. The TDP leaders charged the Dharmana family, which was at the helm, for failure to develop the Narsannapeta Assembly constituency.
Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and his brother Dharmana Krishnadas were representing two parties of congress and the YSR Congress. The brothers were at loggerheads. When Dharmana Prasada Rao said that development of the constituency took backseat due to the split in the family, the TDP leaders asked how he could say it when the Congress was at the helm for the past nine years.
They exuded confidence that the people would reject the Congress as it failed to development the constituency during its nine-year tenure, but now it’s chanting development mantra to woo the electorate.
