Sujana Chowdary hints no Special status to AP

sujanaUnion Minister Sujana Chowdary gave a media briefing over the special status issue to the state Andhra Pradesh.

He said, For last 26 months the TDP government is striving hard to get special status to AP. He admitted that SCS is AP right which is being delayed due to technical issues. He clarified that the exercise is still continuing over the technical aspects coming in way to announce special status to AP.

He said, AP is a performing state and at least 5 years of SCS would benefit the state. Center gave clarity over financial deficit and asked to submit DPR on capital development. Center accepted to release funds of 350 cr per annum to seven Backward districts .

He said, Assurances given on the floor of the house as good as the act. TDP MPs is fighting at their best to bring funds to the state. Funds for Polavaram will be given by NABAD with a ratio 90:10 (center:state sharing)as per 11th plans. Railway zone is sill under discussion.

He stated that as on now, Centre plans to give Special Package equivalent to Special Status to AP. In one or two days,center will come to a clarity on special status. However TDP will not compromise on SCS.

union ministers Sujana Chowdhary, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu have reportedly talked to Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu over phone.But there are indication that the Centre has made up its mind with special package only.
