The celestial wedding of the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy with two consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi was performed in a spectacular way at Rajamundry in East Godavari district today. The day began with the performance of Suprabhatam, Thomala and Archana to the celestial deities at TTD Kalyana mandapam, followed by Snapana Tirumanjanam and Chakrasanam in the morning, TTD said in a release here. A grand procession of deities stood as aspectacle to the tens of thousands of eyes in the streets of Rajamundry town which led to college grounds where the celestial wedding took place in the evening. The wedding began with the priests commencing the religious fete with Sankalpam followed by the customary events of traditional Hindu wedding including Edurukolu, Pubantata and finally the much awaited Mangalyadhrana Mahotsavam where in Lord Malayppa Swamy tied the knots to his Two Consorts. The entire fete provided a colourful feast to the eyes of the devotees who converged to witness the grand divine marriage.
