Sonia refuses to meet CM, Bosta, Damodara !
In an apparent expression of serious resentment at the way the state party affairs were being run, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has denied audience to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana and Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, who waited in the capital in vain for two days.
It is not because of her pre-occupation that Sonia Gandhi has denied appointment to the trio. She possibly wanted to give a clear warning to them to mend their ways, win the ensuing by-elections, before meeting her.
In sharp contrast to the treatment meted out to the three top leaders of the state, Sonia Gandhi has met Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, the arch rival of Kiran Kumar Reddy from his native Chittoor district and the newly elected Rajya Sabha member Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar on Wednesday and former PCC Chief D Srinivas on Tuesday.
Participating in a debate on a TV channel, MLC and noted educationist Prof. Nageswar has taken a serious exception to Sonia Gandhi snubbing the Chief Minister.
However, Congress MLC Ranga Reddy joining the debate from Delhi has denied that the Chief Minister had tried to meet the Congress president. The three leaders went to the capital only to discuss by-poll preparedness with Azad and have done just that. They did not have meeting Sonia Gandhi on their agenda and had not sought an appointment with her, he says.
But it is unthinkable for a Congress Chief Minister not to meet Sonia Gandhi even as a matter of courtesy, when he spent two days in New Delhi.
