Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao Tuesday reviewed the measures taken by Govt to make Siddipet the first Assembly Constituency to implement 100% cashless transactions.
Ministers Harish Rao, Laxma Reddy, Jagadish Reddy, Nageshwara Rao, Advisor to Govt Sri Vivekanand, senior officials of State Govt, representatives from 12 banks, Siddipet Dist officials participated in the review.
KCR stressed the importance of Banking system, post Demonetization. He said, banks have to play a major role in making the cashless transaction system a success.
He said, Siddipet Assembly Segment is going to be the first Assembly Constituency having cashless transactions, It will be a model for testing the digital economy.
Appreciating the efforts put in by banking officials in Siddipet, CM wanted more swiping machines and ATMs in place to meet demand.He wanted about 4000 swiping machines to be put in pace in the Constituency. He instructed officials to hold Grama Sabhas and involve students in educating people on cashless transactions.
