shourya-reviewMovie : Shourya

Music Director : Vedaa

Shourya (Manchu Manoj) has a philosophy that one he makes friendship with someone , it has to be continued forever. One other hand Nethra (Regina Cassandra) is a type of girl who makes friendship only with close people .But Shourya and Nethra fall in love with each other in the first sight. Both choose to leave the country, as Nethra’s family does not accept their inter-caste relationship. Nethra’s parents  tell her to wait for Shivaratri .

Before leaving the country ,Nethra asks Shourya to spend a night in her village Kotilingala temple .But that night, when Shourya is beside Nethra , Strangers cut the throat of Nethra and she gets killed . Police takes the case seriously as Nethra’s father is a MP. Later Shourya claims that he killed her before the court. Did Shourya kills Nethra?, if not Who Killed her and how Shourya comes out of the case? With arches and thrilling twists ..Watch on Big screen.

Manchu Manoj has put on extra weight for the film and gets into the skin of the character and carry out his role seamlessly.Regina has become more glamorous and gave her best for her role as Nethra. Prakash Raj as the investigating police officer, Subba Raju as antagonist. Prabhas Srinu as brother-in-law of Nethra , have given their best. Brahmanandam, Shakalaka Shankar and Shiva Reddy excelled in the comedy department.

Dasaradh, a well-known director to Telugu audiences, who has made family entertainers like Santosham and Mr. Perfect came with a intriguing plot that keeps the viewers glued to their seats until the last minute. However The first half miss the pace , but pick up in the second half . With interesting twists , the audience would get a feel that they have watched a good film in the Climax. Music by Veda is decent. Songs are melodious but the songs placement is bad, BGM is average. Cinematography is better. Gopimohan screenplay and dialogues are wonderful.

Plus points
Manchu manoj and Prakash Raj.

Minus points
Slow first half
Production values

Overall Shourya is a decent thriller and could be much better, if made with much more care.
