Seven workers killed at Kaleshwaram project site

kaleshwaramAt Least seven workers killed at Kaleshwaram project site at Ellanthakunta in Sircilla Rajanna district in Telangana after the project tunnel collapsed.

Contracting agency agreed to pay Rs 5 lakh to the kin of each deceased workers Kaleshwaram project victims. Telangana Irrigation Minister ordered probe into the incident. The workers hailing from Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha.

The incident took place at Kaleshwaram project tenth package work place in the tunneling area of Tipapoor.The air block fell into the tunnel from the roof of the tunnel on the 10-meter bundle of concrete works. Six people died on the spot. With the intensity of the risk, the bodies are unnoticed.

The deceased have been identified as Gautham (24), Hariram (24), Harishchandra (35) from Chhattisgarh, Odisha’s Hari (38), Jitendhir Singh (25) of Bihar and Jayaprakash (25) of Bhupalpally district. The whereabouts of Punar Singh who died in the middle of the path is unknown. Soren of Jharkhand is wounded and getting treated in a private hospital in Karimnagar.
