SC says to allow women in Sabarimala TempleThe three-judge bench of supreme court headed by Justice Dipak Misra said You cannot deny entry of women based on traditions which are against the principles of the Constitution, over denying women entry in sabarimala temple in Kerala.

The Bench ruled , There is no such thing as hindu male or Hindu female, A Hindu is a Hindu.The court is hearing a PIL, filed by Indian Young Lawyers’ Association

While the Sabarimala temple trust and the Kerala government argued before the court that, the traditional ban on women entering the temple should be preserved. They said, the Hindu deity of Sabarimala, Lord Ayyappa is a Celibate and women presence impedes upon’s Lord’s purity.
