Salary hike to Priests on par with Govt employees

kcr-priestsTelangana chief minister K.Chandrashekar Rao met with temple priests from all over the State at Pragathi Bhavan and announced a slew of measures for their welfare.

Speaking on this occasion KCR said, Priests and staff working in temples will be offered pay scales on the lines of Government employees from 1 November. The Dhoopa, Deepa, Naivedyam Scheme, which is being offered in 1,805 temples, will be extended to 3000 more temples. In the undivided State, Rs 2,500 was given under Dhoopa, Deepa, Naivedyam Scheme whereas it is hiked to Rs 6,000 after Telangana formation.

Dharmika Parishad constituted to oversee issues connected with running of temples. Its mandate would be finalized in consultation with seers.Ministers Indrakaran Reddy, Harish Rao , T. Srinivas Yadav, T. Nageswara Rao, N. Narasimha Reddy, J Krishna Rao, MP Laxmikantha Rao , Advisor Sri KV Ramanachary, legislators, Officials of Endowments Dept. and leaders of Brahmin Associations attended the meeting.
