Sabithamma backs her son in Suri’s murder case

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister P Sabitha Indira Reddy today refuted reports in a section of the media, linking her son Karthik Reddy to Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in the murder case of Rayalaseema factionist Maddelacheruvu Suri. Suri was mudered by Bhanu Kiran on January 3, 2011. The CID police had arrested him on saturday last. Talking to newspersons here, the Home minister congratulated the CID for arresting Bhanu Kiran and said it had been given full powers to arrest anyone in connection with the case.

‘The CID can probe anyone, including my son Karthik Reddy, if it finds any vital clue in connection with the murder of Suri,’ she said.

Responding to a question on the Congress and Telugu Desam Party staging dharnas on the liquor scam in Vizianagaram district today, the Home minister said leaders of both the parties have not taken any prior permission for staging the dharnas, and they were unnecessarily causing a law and order problem in the district.

She said the District Police has been asked to take all measures to maintain peace during the agitation. Ms Sabitha said files relating to lifting of police cases against the students who had participated in the Telangana agitation were pending with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
