Russia supports India’s action to fight cross-border Terrorism

modi-putinIndian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin begin with restricted talks ahead of BRICS Summit in Goa.

Later there was an exchange of 16 agreements and 3 announcements across different fields.

Speaking to media Modi said, India and Russia have agreed to work on an annual military industrial conf that will allow stakeholders on both sides to institute & push collaboration. It a great privilege that Putin has deep affection towards India. Both the countries have agreed to set up a Science and Technology Commission. Both the countries will continue to expand, diversify & deepen economic engagement, Businesses, and Industry .

Speaking about Terrorism Modi said, Russia’s clear stand on the need to combat terrorism mirrors India’s own. Both the countries both agree on zero tolerance towards terrorism and also on the situation in Afghanistan. India deeply appreciates Russia’s understanding and support of our actions to fight cross-border terrorism that threatens our entire region.

While Foreign Secy S Jaishankar said, Both the leaders strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. India expressed gratitude to Russia for its unequivocal condemnation of the terror attack on Uri Army base.

Putin said, Companies of both countries are improving industrial cooperation, military and technical cooperation also improving.
