RRBs employees to observe dharna near Parliament April 26

Employees and officers representing 82 Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) will stage dharna near Parliament in New Delhi on April 26. One hundred reprentatives from Andhra Pradesh will participate in dharna demanding among other things parity of pension with commerical bank staff, formation of National Rural Bank of India, regularization of party-time and daily wage workers in RRBs and withdrawal of retrogade order on H R Policy, Andhra Pradesh Regional Rural Banks Employees Assoication (APRRBEA) General Secretary S Venkateswar Reddy said in a release here today. ‘We have a customer base of over 12 crore, mostly comprising of poor and peasant sections’, he said adding over 3000 employees have already retired, 15000 are going to retire in the next two years and almost entire staff in couple of years there after.
