RRB employees to observe dharna tomorrow

As part of All India call, Regional Rural Bank (RRB) employees will observe Dharna infront of the Regional Office of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) here, tomorrow to protest aginst for their pending demands.

A large number of officers and employees from all the five Grameena Banks in the state would take part in the agitation to be held from 1030 hours, a press release from Andhra Pradesh Regional Rural Banks Employees Association here said.

CPM State Unit Secreatry B V Raghavulu will inaugurate the Dharna and leaders from the Association of RBI, NABARD, Commercial Banks and RRBs should participate in the programme.

The demands included formation of National rural Bank of India with state level RRBs under it, instead of repeated amalgamations, recruiment of staff to meet the growth of business, branch expansion, regularisation and absorption of part-time waged workers, extension of all allowances and benefits as in commercial banks and representation of workman and officers in the Board of Management of RRBs as in all Public Sector Banks.
