The Justice Roopanwal Commission has stated that University of Hyderabad ‘s Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula has committed suicide due to personal frustrations.
So according to the learned man who did a probe into Rohith Vemula’s death, Rohit died as he was tired of ‘worldly affairs’. There was no discrimination, no political pressure on him to commit suicide.
Rohit’s decision to commit suicide was wholly his own decision and not abetted by either University administration or the government.
While the SFI reject the commission report saying ‘Institutional Murder’ of Rohith Vemula can’t be whitewashed .
The probe also alleged Rohit’s mother faked Dalit status SC (Mala) and doubted that she might have enrolled into the community because of the benefits.
Earlier, The death of Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula shook the entire nations for few weeks . The classes in UoH was suspended for over a month. Fingers pointed out at Union Ministers Smriti Irani and Bandaru Dattatreya for their involvement in university affairs.
