Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Bhoot Returns’ got negative reviews but shockingly collected more to ace director Rajamouli’s acclaimed film ‘Makkhi’. While Bhoot Returns raked Rs.3.75 crores of shares, Makkhi grossed Rs.2.06 crores for this first weekend. The major reason is, RGV is a very familiar face in Bollywood and he is being associated with Mumbai Industry from a long time. So, brand RGV is more reliable and more powerful than the stamp of SS Rajamouli.
Rani Mukherjee and Prithviraj’s ‘Aiyyaa’ which released along with Makkhi and BR also opened poorly with negative reviews and it collected around. Rs. 4.75 crores. Sridevi’s ‘English Vinglish’ grossed Rs.8 Crores in second weekend and overall it collected Rs.29 crores alone in India.
