Telangana Government has reportedly allotted 505 acres of land to Media baron Ch Ramoji Rao for his prestigious ” Om City”, A spiritual city , where 108 temples replicas based on the designs of the famous temples in India would be constructed.
The land is spread over Abdullapur, Koheda and Surmaiguda villages in Hayathnagar mandal and formality of CMO’s approval is awaiting.
There were allegations on media baron for constructing Ramoji film city in assigned lands, although Ramoji Rao said that the land was acquired from the private land owners by paying them.
To avoid such allegations Ramoji Rao had earlier requested that the government allot 2000 acres of the land for the project. However such huge single parcel of government land is not available.
Ramoji Rao had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and informed them that the proposed project to be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 3,000 crore and expected to attract about Rs 2 lakh visitors every day.
