All India Democratic Women Association (AIDWA) staged a 48-hour hunger strike demanding police action against film-maker Ram Gopal Varma, over his latest film ‘ ‘God, Sex And Truth’.

Eight women associations members sat on 48-hours hunger strike at the GVMC Gandhi statue in Visakhapatnam. AIDWA member Mani, who had given written a complaint against Ram Gopal Varma at MVP police station in Visakhapatnam, but the Vizag police didn’t file an FIR.

Instead, they advised going for a defamation case against the filmmaker, while Telangana police had filed a case against the film-maker after Devi.

Devi said, There is no safety for women in Andhra Pradesh. When Telangana police have filed an FIR, why is Vizag police not doing the same?.
