The record-breaking run of Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s mass entertainer Racha at the Box Office is still continuing. The film not only broke the existing records in AP, but also in Karnataka. According to the trade analysts, Racha has already collected a staggering Rs 15 crores at Karnataka Box Office and it is still going strong.
Till recently, there used to be restrictions on the screening of non-Kannada movies in Karnataka. But things changed when the Competition Commission of India (CCI) imposed a fine on Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) for obstructing ‘free trade’. With this the Chamber has lifted off the restrictions on non-Kannada movies and opened doors for state wide release of other language films.
Racha was the first Telugu film to get benefited with the lifting of restrictions. It is the first non-Kannada film to release in more than 24 screens. The film which was released in 100-plus theaters raked in a whoofing Rs 15 crore, which is a record for other language films in Karnataka. This shows that Ram Charan is not just a star, but a record breaker!
