Protests erupt demanding AP Special Status

protestThe Special Status Sadhana Committee on Thursday launched a highways blockade for implementation of special status and division promises for Andhra Pradesh.

The protest, which began at 10 have lasted till 12 noon. The national roads across the state were been blocked by protesters.

All parties including ruling TDP, opposition YSRCP and Jana Sena Party floated by actor turned politician Pawan Kalyan extends support to rail-road blockade called by Left parties demanding AP Special Status on Thursday.

All party leaders in the state of Vizag are demanding the announcement of Railways Zone in Visakhapatnam. A large rally was organized under the Left Front in Madilapalamp Junction. The leaders warned that if the centre still does not fulfil the division promises, this agitation will become a public movement. They have blocked the National Highway No. 16 from Ikkupuram, Srikakulam district, to Tada in Nellore district. Vehicles on national highways were stopped everywhere. Anandapurapuram-Bangalore national highway has been taken by the protestors to prevent vehicles running.
