Southern star Priyamani, etched in the minds of the Telugu audience as a ‘glam queen’ for revealing more skin than talent, will be seen in a new avatar in her next multi-lingual film Charulatha. “It’s a different role for me and moreover, no one has touched this theme before. I had to do some homework to be able to play the role of two conjoined twins with a slight variation in looks,” informs the actress, who is also set to spook the audience with the path-breaking movie inspired by the Thai film Alone.
So is she now aiming for a National Award? “I don’t pick roles for the sake of awards but this performance is special to me. I have already bagged a National Award and other awards, so I’m not desperate to win. After Paruthiveeran, I wanted to explore glam roles. Now I have the opportunity to do a challenging role, so why not? Nevertheless, potboilers are also close to my heart,” she adds.
