police-lathi-charge-uohTense situation prevails in University of Hyderabad as a group of students attacked Vice Chancellor Appa Rao chamber,who resumed office.

Police reach Hyderabad University after a group of students vandalised VC’s office in protest . Another group supporting VC clashed with the rival group.

Police tried to evict students from Hyderabad University VC’s lodge, but student never listened  and started pelting stones. Policemen injured during stone pelting by students. Then The police resorted to a lathicharge to disperse the students from the place.

The protesting students alleged that Without informing anyone, VC came back to his position and called an executive council meeting.

On the other hand, The Non teaching employees of University to go on hunger strike demanding action against culprits of attack on VC lodge . They also threatened to cut all facilities to the students, who are spooling the name of the University.

APpa Rao under fire for his handling of the suspension of the five Dalit students, one of whom, Rohith Vemula, committed suicide on January 17.
