Police arrest 7 persons involved in communal incident
The City police achieved a breakthrough by arresting seven persons who were involved in the recent communal incidents in Madannapet and Saidabad Police Station Limits in the old city on sunday last. Informing this at a press conference here this evening, city Crimes and SIT Detective Department Deputy Commissioner of police J Sathyanarayana said the accused Syed Amjad Ali, Mohd Nizam and Mohd Dastagir who were involved in stone pelting incidents at Kurmaguda were charged under sections 147, 148, 153 (a), 324 of Indian Penal Code r/w 149 IPC under Madannapet Police station limits. Mr Satyanarayana said another accused Syed Shakr was arrested under the same sections of IPC as he along with others had damaged an auto and beat complainant P Surender, an auto driver of Kurmaguda. He said Yousuf Siddique alias shoeb, a student and Mir Mudassar Ali alias Mudas were involved in attempting to murder two persons, Ravi and Murali. They were charged under sections 147, 148, 153 (A), 307 of IPC r/w 149 of the IPC. The DCP said the seventh accused Mallikarjun Reddy was arrested under sections 147,148,427 r/w 149 IPC & Sec 153 (A) & Sec. 3 & 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Properties Act and Sec 7 (1) of Criminal Law Amendment Act for pelting stones on the houses and damaging APSRTC buses on that day at Jai Hind Hotel Road, Saidabad. Efforts were intensified to apprehend the absconding accused, he said.
