The Polavaram project is a litmus test for Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu and the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as far as Andhra people are concerned since both the leaders have promised the people of AP during 2014 elections.
Polavaram project is not progressing as fast as Naidu wanted it who was win an aim to give water to the fields by 2019. Naidu was working hard with regular visits to the Polavaram site monthly and conducting review meeting every Monday.
While the Telangana is also creating hurdles by extending support to Odisha on Polavaram to halt the construction of the project, the Union govt also ordered the state govt to stop the tenders process for Spillway of the project which may delay the project work.
Naidu expressed his dissatisfaction over this, He said “Will speak to PM on Polavaram project. If Centre wants us to stop the tender work we will stop it&hand overwork to Centre to complete the project. Will take Opposition to Delhi to discuss the project if they are willing to come”.
Loksatta Jayaprakash said, Polavaram a lifeline for both A.P, he has urged the Union and the State governments to eschew their differences and expedite the completion of the national project.
Congress and YSRCP are blaming the TDP for compromising the future of teh state before the centre.
