A plastic factory was badly damaged in fire when major fire broke out at Krishna Plastics Limited, located near Shamshabad on Sunday.
According to police, fire broke out around 9.30 am in Krishna Plastics, which was involved in plastic recycling. However, no casualty was reported as it was a holiday.
Locals informed the police and fire services officials about the accident. Four fire tenders were rushed to the area. It took four hours for the fire fighters to bring the fire under control.
According to the factory proprietor Vimal Bang, the loss could be around Rs 30 lakh. RGI police have registered a case and investigating the matter, said Inspector Durga Prasad.
Meanwhile, locals expressed anger saying the factory was set up illegally, which stores huge quantity of plastic material containing inflammable chemicals inside. They demanded removal of the factory from the area and stern action against the management.
