Marriage could be the last thing on Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s mind at this moment as he strategises for the crucial general elections next year.
But the people in his parliamentary constituency feel that the 42-year-old leader should not wait anymore to get hitched.
On the second day of his two-day tour of Amethi, Rahul faced the unexpected and uncomfortable question regarding his marriage from some people, who wanted to know why was he delaying it.
“There is no point delaying it further. It is high time you get married. And, most importantly, wherever the baraat goes, you must ensure that it starts from Amethi,” they told him on Friday. In response, the Congress MP smiled and said: “It will happen soon.”
