Says veteran filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao and ex-Congress MP, who denies that he is quitting Congress to join another party.
“That’s rubbish because I didn’t join politics to seek posts and power. I’m also not the kind of person who shifts loyalties. I will remain a Congress man,” he says.
The veteran director recalls his first birthday celebration in the industry. “I remember legendary NTR blessing me,” he says.
The leading filmmaker, who has made 100-odd films, now wants to explore new genres. “I want to make a mythological film Mahabaratham. I’m also looking for the right script to begin my political satire Assemblylo Dongalu Padaru,” he adds.
He also blames “lesses” of theatres in Andhra Pradesh for ruining the lives of hundreds of small-budget filmmakers.
Except for the middle-men, neither the makers nor viewers benefit from this set-up, he says.
He watches all the films released and says he will continue making films since “filmmaking is my first love”.
