Normalcy returns to Chennai after Cyclonic Vardah

rp_cyclone-300x201.jpgNormalcy returned to Chennai city, two days after severe cyclonic storm Vardah.

The cyclone Vardah which paralyzed Chennai and nearby areas caused disruption. However the city has recovered and traffic jams, opening of shops and offices, buses and trains started running in the city.

In some areas, there is lack of electricity and drinking water, Mobile telephony services continued to be impacted as uprooted several trees, electric poles have damaged mobile telephony towers, affecting services.

The restoration of mobile services is going on in war footing and soon be in back to normalcy. BSNL seems to be better than private players. The government has declared a holiday for schools and colleges in the three districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram.

Chief Minister O Panneerselvam had a review meeting with top officials, urged the center to support the state.
