No more mulaqats for Qaidi No 6093 — YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. His family members and other visitors will not be allowed to meet Kadapa MP and YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during the mulaqat time at the Chanchalguda prison till June 25 as he has exhausted all his mulaqaats in the past to meet his family and party members.
On Wednesday, some of his family and party members tried to meet him but they were turned away by the jail staff. “The decision has been taken as Jagan has already had more than five mulaqats in this week in three days. Moreover, providing security everyday has become a big task,” a jail official explained.
According to the jail norms, a convict can have two mulaqats in 15 days and an undertrial two mulaqats a week. But in some special cases, the superintendent or in-charge superintendent of a prison can permit more interviews. In each mulaqat, up to five members can meet the jail inmate for 30 to 45 minutes.
Jagan’s wife Bharathi met him three times in this week, and newly-elected 15 MLAs and one MP of his party met him in the past four days. MIM MP Assaduddin Owaisi met Jagan on Tuesday.
