Nandyal gears up for TDP and YSRCP battle

rp_Nandyal_elections-1-300x200-1-300x200-1-300x200.jpgAll set for the battle of prestige in Andhra Pradesh between the ruling TDP and Opposition YSR Congress in the by-election for Nandyal Assembly constituency scheduled for Wednesday.

About 2.19 lakh voters of Nandyal Assembly constituency to exercise their franchise in the by-election. 15 candidates, including TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy, YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy, Congress candidate Gaddam Abdul Khadar and others are in election fray.

Around 2500 police official of state and central forces have been deployed in the constituency, 215 booths are identified as sensitive and CC camera surveillance has been installed.

For the first time, Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail system is being used in the by-election in Nandyal. The fate of the prestigious elections will be decided with the election results that are to be declared on August 28.
